“Director’s Canvas” is an AI-powered storyboard studio that turns a simple creative prompt into a visual sequence of animated shots. The goal is to build an interface where a user can type a short idea — like “a 30-second sci-fi opener on an alien planet” — and watch an agent generate the storyboard step by step in real time.

Instead of a traditional chat UI, the experience centers around a live timeline canvas. The agent breaks the prompt into scenes, generates reference images for each shot using Runway, then turns those images into animated video clips. As the process runs, the storyboard updates live with shot cards, previews, status updates, and controls to regenerate or edit individual scenes.

What we’re building is more than a single AI generation flow — it’s a modular creative workflow powered by agents. Users can inspect, modify, and rerun parts of the pipeline, while developers can extend the system with new media tools, creative workflows, or integrations like approvals, briefs, and collaboration systems.

The project is built on the Generative UI stack using CopilotKit, LangGraph Deep Agents, AG-UI, MCP Apps, and Runway APIs, with a flexible architecture designed for experimentation and expansion into other creative domains like ads, music videos, or educational content.
