Global Redis Open Build

Event Overview

This isn’t your average hackathon — it’s an open-build sprint for anyone ready to ship something real.
No rigid tracks, no pitch theater, no waiting for kickoff. Just you, your code, and a global network of builders pushing what’s possible.

Bring a project you’ve been tinkering on, or start something entirely new. You can use Redis to supercharge what you’re building — for blazing-fast data flows, caching, vector search, or real-time state management — but that’s optional. What matters most is what you ship.

Projects can span anything from agents and AI infrastructure to creative tools, research demos, or production-ready systems. Submit your build, show the code, and get your work in front of thousands of active AI Tinkerers worldwide.

Theme: Build Something Meaningful
Format: Open virtual build (join anytime)
Who it’s for: Active builders — engineers, founders, and researchers who want to ship, showcase, or evolve their projects
Why join: Visibility, collaboration, Redis credits & prizes, and a chance to connect with peers who actually ship

The Challenge

Design and ship a working prototype that demonstrates context engineering in action —
how agents can leverage Redis to build richer, more intelligent systems.

Example directions:

  • Implement A2A communication between autonomous agents using Redis Streams or Pub/Sub.
  • Use Lane Cache to manage contextual memory or dynamic retrieval within multi-modal workflows.
  • Experiment with frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Composio to extend agent capabilities.
  • Or invent your own approach to real-time, memory-driven intelligence.

Timeline

  • Open build time – Oct 26 - Nov 2
  • Project Submission Deadline – Sunday, Nov 2, 11:59pm PST
  • Winner Announced – Week of Nov 3rd

Prizes & Recognition

Winning projects will be promoted globally across the Redis and AI Tinkerers networks, putting your work in front of thousands of top engineers, founders, and AI builders around the world.

Redis will showcase standout projects through their developer ecosystem and social channels, highlighting creative uses of context engineering, memory, and real-time intelligence. AI Tinkerers will amplify your work across our global community and feature winning teams in upcoming events and media.

This is a chance to earn real visibility and be recognized on the global stage for advancing what agents can do with Redis.

Judging Criteria & Eligibility

Projects will be evaluated on:

  • Technical Execution — Depth of engineering (core datatypes, Streams, Lane Cache, etc.).
  • Creativity & Impact — Novelty of approach and potential real-world utility.
  • Builder Clarity — How clearly you explain your architecture and context design.
  • Polish & Presentation — Working demo and documentation.
